Operator Environment
Operators have an efficient and safe place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The most important objective is to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and big glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is gently rounded and really comfortable. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, so as to keep the operator functioning as efficiently as possible.
Thanks to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The hydraulic controls and the operators' seat are all individually adjustable to be able to maintain an optimum working position. Additionally, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 ergonomically positioned multi-functioned and simple to operate levers which are offered for the horn, window washers, gear changing and windscreen wipers.
To ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air that is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for recirculation, defrosting, heating and cooling. As an additional option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all accessible. Standard instrumentation consists of: low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, applied parking brake and high gearbox oil temperature. Furthermore, gauges display values for fuel quantity, operating time, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is one of the key options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These units make it easier to supervise the machine. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any faults which happen and their current values.
