Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they transport loads. The Rider model however, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and transport unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap method for transporting loads from one place to another. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles that can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machinery during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
